'Contrasting Duality' forms the launch release from Sejon, on new imprint, V1 Records. Conceptualised to express consistent momentum within a techno mindset, V1 embraces hypnotic polyrhythms, loopy percussive grooves and immersive energy.
Curated as a four-track EP, 'Contrasting Duality' features an acute combination of techno flavours, with 'Journeying' delivering an evolving swell of hypnotic polyrhythms infused with groove-steady percussive hits and crisp ride cymbals. 'Mental Physics' gets straight into the weeds with a percussive warehouse vibe of raw looping drums, shattering highs and penetrating synth stabs, beautifully glued together. 'Interdimensional' brings a dark, grittier tone to the party with an evolution of grinding synth lines, broken drums and raw percussion perfectly infused with an industrial edge. Release title track 'Contrasting Duality' wraps up the EP package with a stripped back blend of hypnotic polyrhythmic stabs, panning alarm tones combined with a heavy kick and solid percussive groove.
As solid stand-alone tracks, or tools for DJs looking for layers in a greater signal, 'Contrasting Duality' sets the pace for V1.
'Mental Physics' and 'Interdimensional' received early support from Dave Clarke, with plays on his 'White Noise' radio show. 'Mental Physics' has also been supported by Ben Klock, with a notable play during his last 'Klockworks Presents: Photon' event at Printworks in London.
